Coaches Application
(Required to Coach)

  • First things first. We are here to serve Jesus as Lord and Savior. We take seriously His charge to watch after the children. Nothing in the park is more important than providing a positive environment and being a good role model for the children. If this isn't you, please let me know and we'll find another way for you to help.
  • Please instruct your team to pick up all trash in and around the dugout and place in a local trashcan before and after games and practices.
  • Have the team review the rules posted in the dugout before each practice and each game. We want these "dugout rules" to be engrained in their minds.
  • Keep all bats, helmets, etc... inside the dugout during games.
  • Do not hand out game balls. We need the game balls for future practice balls. The umpire should collect all balls used during a particular game.
  • Give the umpires a break. They will do their best, but can't see everything that happens during a play. They may have a bad day. Help make their day better. Thanks for your help.
  • If you need some ideas to improve your team, please ask for help. You can email staff@rcys.net  and we'll reply with some good drills, etc...
  • Absolutely, find a good assistant coach (3 or 4) that will help you during practices. We do not want to see a one-man approach. Use your assistant coaches to pitch, coach bases, etc...
  • All lost and found items should be taken to the concession stand.
  • The equipment bags that we provide to coaches have been coming back in terrible condition. We threw 6 bags away ($200 worth) this season. Please do not place any more than 4 or 5 bats along with 4 helmets and 5 - 8 balls that we'll provide, in the RCYS bags.
  • If you have a legitimate complaint, lets keep it professional. Please come directly to Brad Flanagan or another RCYS committee member. Umpires are here to umpire a game, not take complaints. We take complaints very seriously and want to provide the best experience possible for all players, coaches, parents, and umpires. In SHORT, leave the umpires out of the controversial issues. Let them do their job.
