RCYS is a ministry of
Bethel Christian Church. We are
dedicated to the protection of children and wish for you and your family
to make wonderful memories while involved with RCYS sports. RCYS
began in March of 2006 with 120 children on 14 teams. Due to
overwhelming feedback, we hosted a Fall league which brought 160 youth.
In Spring of 2007, we grew to 260 children and had more than
270 youth playing on 22 teams for our Fall 2007 season. God has
been so good to all of us. In Spring 2008, we grew to 330 players on
26 teams. We had an awesome Spring 2009
season with more than 350 players. For Spring 2010, God blessed
us with 406 children on 32 teams. PRAISE THE LORD!
We continue to grow, season by season.
RCYS is managed by a committee of dedicated ministry
leaders and volunteers from
Bethel Christian Church. All
committee members are required to be members and/or leaders of
Bethel Christian Church. For this reason, you can be assured
that the committee has one motive - to show the love of Christ to you
and your family. We will never pressure you. We are simply here to be an example.
RCYS is a flourishing
ministry that derived from a seed planted by
Newton Christian Youth Softball League in
Covington, Georgia. After spending a couple of years coaching at
NCYSL, one of our pastors brought the idea to Bethel by the leading of
the Holy Spirit and the thriving program that now exist (known as
Rockdale Christian Youth Sports is a direct fruit of
NCYSL.
Fred Leavitt deserves so much credit for his work at
NCYSL and for
his influence and guidance in getting RCYS off the ground.
