How do I find out who my coach is ?

[Have no fear!  They will contact you within 2 weeks after evaluations.]

What equipment does my child need ?

[Only a glove is required.   RCYS provides each team with several bats, balls helmets and a catchers mask.  Appropriate clothing is required, but we do
not require a certain type of pant or shoe
.]

Can my team practice somewhere other than Bethel ?

[No.  For safety reasons, we cannot reasonably be sure that any other location is safe or free from hazards.   We do our best to make Bethel Park safe.]

Will my child receive a trophy ?

[Yes for the Spring Season.  We have found that trophies give children a sense of accomplishment and they also serve as something to help your child remember the experience.  For the FALL season, we reserve the rights to hand out medals in place of trophies.]

What are evaluations ?

[Evaluations are the process by which we gauge each participants ability to compete with other youth.   After we evaluate each player, we methodically assemble teams trying to create balance in the number of boys and girls on each team as well as the over all skill level of each team.  It is our goal to assemble teams that are as evenly matched as possible.]

Do you offer a Fall softball league ?

[Absolutely.   We have found a great demand for fall softball and the weather makes it all the better.]

Do You Need Volunteers?

Absolutely.   Our entire program is driven by volunteers.  Not one person is paid within the entire RCYS organization (Umpire Crew is paid).   The full-time pastors of Bethel are very much involved with RCYS as would be expected, but all other RCYS functions and activities are completely operated by volunteers.
